Requirements for nesting ESXi 6.0 in VMware workstation 9.0

I attempted to install ESXi 6.0 nested in a VMware Workstation 9 host on a Windows 8.1 64bit PC.

The installation works fine, but I am unable to access the network.

Is there any requirement I am missing?

You can't access the network from the ESXi guest, or from nested guests under the ESXi guest?

Given that the network interface of the VM is confngutred as bridged, I am unable to access it from the host PC or from any other PC in the same LAN.

I am unable as well to ping any host in the LAN from the guest ESXi VM.

Any ideas?

Just to be clear...you are running Windows 8.1 on your host, you are running Workstation 9.0 on Windows 8.1, and you are running ESXi 6.0 as a guest under Workstation 9.0.  There is no nested virtualization going on (yet). Right?

Can you post the vmware.log file for the ESXi VM (as an attachment)?
