Hi
Today I suddenly I lost contact with one of my vdp appliances. I connected to it successfully this morning but later in the day I was unable. Can't see that anything has been altered that could cause this behavior.
The message when I try to connect from the web interface is: "An unexpected connection error occurred and the cause could not be determined. Please check your VDP configuration screen to troubleshoot or contact an administrator"
In vdp configure all services are running OK but I get this message: "Failed to get the datastores with performance analysis information"
I've checked if the user is not locked for some reason, and have tried to reenter the password from vdp-configure: http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=207772...
When I try that I get the following: "Error occurred during configuration" and "unable to find this VDP in the vCenter Inventory"
I have tried restarting the appliance twice but without any luck.
Any thoughts or ideas?
Regards
Ola
Update:
Seems like /var on the appliance is full.
Any recommendations on how to best free up space in /var ?
Ola
Hello,
first check which files consumes most of the /var space ... navigate to /var folder and run:
#: du -h | less
Ping back with results ....
Hi and thanks for the response.
I think got it working again by cleaning out som old log files in the folder.
I followed the instructions here : http://www.richhimself.es/wp/?p=225
Deleted secure.xxx, messages.xx etc.
No errors so far and I am able to connect to the VDP appliance again. Hopefully backup will be OK again as well
Best regards
Ola
