Auto discover not working

Hello,

I installed the Hyperic 5.8.4 vApp using the ovf file and it seems that it not working i see the following in the dashboard:-

Auto-Discovery

There are no auto-discovered resources and HQ inventory is empty.

Please install and startup some HQ agents to get started with HQ.

Did you install somewhere an agent ?

I just installed the vApp below:-

vRealize Hyperic 5.8.4 Server and Agent - OVA file

Configured the network and its up and running.

You should install an agent on some OS (e.g. Windows, Linux etc.). During agent's installation you'll be asked to add IP of hyperic server and credentials.

After successful agent's installation, you'll see auto-discovered resources.

Thanks can i install the agent to the same vm which has the hyperic server? or not?

Of course.

You can do it on all supported OSes.

Please read the hyperic's documentation for supported OSes.

Pay attention on different OS bits (32/64)

I'm just wondering i thought the OVA file is shipped with the agent pre-installed as per the description here:-
