difference between enhanced vMotion and Migration between vCenter Instances

I have started to go through the vSphere 6 documentation and I noticed that it talks about Migration between vCenter Server Instances being a new feature.

I don't see how it is any different then Enhanced vMotion that came out in 5.5.

So am I missing something?

-Thanks

Perhaps it means you can migrate between independently controlled networks? Pretty sure that before you could only migrate between hosts controlled by the same vcenter server.

The Enhanced vMotion that came out with 5.1, not 5.5, allows you migrate VMs between hosts without shared datastore, but the scope will be the Datacenter (thats of course belongs the same vCenter).

See additional details about Enhanced vMotion: http://www.vladan.fr/vmware-enhanced-vmotion/

The new vSphere 6 vMotion enhancements adds not only the migrating across vCenters but allow vSwitches and routed long-distance vMotion.
