Operation Manager Foundation - API

I am trying to access the vCOPs api info via this url - https://vcop-ip/HttpPostAdapter/OpenAPIServlet  

but it is popping up with a login box.  Not matter what username and password I enter, it comes back with same login box

Am I not able to access the API because I am using the foundation version?

The foundation version can't really leverage any custom data in the form of dashboards or otherwise, so I wouldn't expect you to see much benefit from leveraging that adapter in Foundation. What's the use case?
