vRA New VM Request - Mark input boxes "Description" and "Reason for request" as required

Hello,

is it possible to mark the two text boxes "Description" and "Reason for request" as required in vRA 6.2?

I can add my own text boxes using the property dictionary and set them as required but I didn't find the place where to mark the two default boxes as required so they have to be filled in when submitting a new virtual machine request.

Thanks and Best Regards

Hey -

I knew I'd seen a discussion about this somewhere. Look here > Re: Making the 'Description' field of a blueprint mandatory

I think you will find that @JamesMW describes exactly what to do.

Your only issue is that as soon as you do an update this will get overwritten and you'll probably lose your changes.

Good luck

Hello eatVM,

thanks for that great community post - I haven't found that one when I searched for it. After changing the aspx file the two fields are required now so that works fine. The only thing I somehow need to solve is that this fix is not permanent (as you'd already written) and will be overwritten every time when updating to a new release. Does anybody know a solution for this beside changing the aspx again after every update?

Thanks and best regards
