App Volumes 2.6 is GA

App Volumes 2.6 is out! Lots of huge improvements put into this release. Office is MUCH improved with added localization support for non-English OS's and Storage Groups for AppStacks.

So is ESXi/vCenter 6.0 not yet supported, or will it still work just fine?

Looking at the documentation it seems that VSphere 6.0, Horizon View 6.1 and AppVolumes 2.6 are all GA at the same time and are all compatible with eachother.

We will be installing next week. If something fails will let you guys know.

We do have some issues with slow logins with writable volumes created in 2.5.2 (so the 2.5.1 template). Anyone else expierence these issues??

Also there are quite some parameters that you can set. Are you looking at creating an .adm template for it? Would be nice to have one..

Any chance you can share a list of apps this version is tested against so that I might know before getting my hopes up? 😉

My SR is still open, but I haven't been able to generate any logs yet. The blurb in the user guide just says what to use and where, but can you explain what order to run it in, in order to generate the logs you guys need?

I didn't see 6.0 in the App Volumes 2.6 user guide, unless I missed it, is why I was asking.  Though, as you've said, with all products being released at the same time that should indicate cross-compatibility, you would think.

You did not read wrong. vSphere 6 is not officially supported. Feedback on this and any experiences with vSphere 6 and App Volumes are welcome..

No official list available other than to say all major and popular corporate style apps are tested.

I'm sure regression testing against Adobe and Microsoft apps is important, but it'd be good to start building a database of what works (with which version) and what doesn't.  There are plenty of other important apps!

Can can we count on officially supporting vSphere 6 in a point release, or will we be waiting for 3.0?

There are but we get into a bit of a tangle saying this works and this does not. To many combinations to track. Was is coming is a "this type of app with these characteristics are good and these other types are not as good" doc.

Will be well before 3.0.
