Can someone confirm the MAX LUN size that can be replicated using vSphere Replication Appliance 5.8. In previous versions, 2 TB was the limit. I saw something indicating a max replication size now of 64 TB. That is a big jump.

Yes with ESXi 5.5 and above the max supported replicated disk size is around 62TB.
In the upcoming VR 6.0 release there are optimizations around initial full-sync if disks are thin provisioned or there are large unallocated regions.
