Mouse release from VM

I am running Windows 8.1 as a host - 12 core 64 gb ram.  I am running a mix of Linux and Windows guests, and as of 11.x, when i press Ctrl+Alt, the mouse will not release.  I have to shut down the guest vm to release it back to the host.  In addition, sometimes the scoll lock key will release the mouse.

ANy advice?

update the driver for physical machine..

What is the name of the driver? I could only find the keyboard and mouse i use. I've reinstalled both. problem still persists

have you installed VMtools on your guest OS ?
