Hello!

Has anyone deployed Hyperic as vApp?

I've just deployed the vApp, followed the link: IP-address:5480, I saw the management console.. Then I clicked on the link vCenter Hyperic (which is IP-address:7080), but it appeared to be unavailable.

I then checked the "netstat -utnlp" on Hyperic server and found out that the port 7080 was not being listened.

How can I get into admin-console on port 7080 in according to documentation?

Thanks.

Hi,

What is the Hyperic version?

Take a look at Hyperic server.log file located under <server-dir>/logs directory and check for Exceptions/Errors.

Thanks,

Tal

5.8.3 and 5.8.4

Could you provide the full path to the log file on vCenter Hyperic Server VM, please?

5.8.4 is the last Hyperic version.

The path to server.log file:

/opt/hyperic/server-current/logs/

I've followed the path and haven't found that directory...see screenshot.

Probably the installation process failed.

Please run a new 5.8.4 vApp installation.

I've just redownloaded the vCenter-hyperic-5.8.4-EE.ova, checked the md5-sum, it's ok.

But the problem exists...

Can't the absence of stuff on the screenshot be somehow a rationale?

You should be able to choose a configuration for Hyperic.

Try to re download the ova file.

I've tried different ova files via WebClient, but in vain.. empty Configuration tab

Have you used the same ova file got from MyVMware portal Trials?

I have seen this once before (not seeing the sizing options) with a c# client that was a beta and wasn't being upgraded when connected to the vCenter.

Would it be possible to remove the c# vSphere client and clean its directories then reinstall and try again?

There are also installation logs which could offer some insight.  They can be found here:

/opt/hyperic/hyperic-hqee-installer/hyperic-hqee-installer-5.8.4/installer/logs/

Thanks, folks!

The problem is resolved Smiley Happy

I've checked out the inst. logs and found out that the system hadn't accepted my changed username for admin: admin (the error was: that username is reserved)

so after next install process I just left the username default (hqadmin) and it got working!
