vCOPs 5.8.4 - Error trying to log in to vcops-custom "This product is unlicensed or cannot connect to the vSphere Server. Use a vSphere Client to connect to the vCenter Server and assign a license key."

I'm running vCOPS 5.8.4 appliance, it's configured and pulling metrics from my vCenter server just fine however when I try to log in to the vcops-custom UI with my AD login or the "admin" user account I get this error:

"This product is unlicensed or cannot connect to the vSphere Server. Use a vSphere Client to connect to the vCenter Server and assign a license key."

I checked the licensing and it's showing the correct key:

The effective license mode is my vCenter license, but as you can see the SKU is Enterprise Plus key which should give me the custom UI.  Any ideas what I'm missing?

Hi Morgolis. 

I had this issue as well. I kept thinking my registration was not working.  I did have the license key in virtual center, however I had to go to licensing, click on the radio button for Asset and find the vCenter Ops entry and right click and change license key.  Set it to your license key and then go to the admin console of vcops/admin and reregister or reconnect and it should fix your licenses on the status section.

Tricky wording 

It turns out "VMware vSphere with Operations Management 5.5 Enterprise Plus" only comes with the Standard edition of vCOps/vROps.   "Enterprise Plus" only applied to the vCenter features like Storage DRS.

On the other hand, vCloud Suite Enterprise edition comes with vCOps/vROps Enterprise edition.
