Workstation 11 (11.1) : Unwanted and rare changes of guest screen resolution

I am using vmware workstation since version 6, but so buggy version as is version 11 i never seen. Also version 10 was much worse than 9. But this version 11 (11.1)...

Ctrl Tab for switching to Next VM working only for not running machines

For what is useful in fullscreen mode switching to not running VM??? Is terrible, I can switch to running machine only by mouse clicking.

Screen resolution of running VM changing very rare.

View -> Autosize ->

Autofit guest => screen resolution of VM changes if I enter / leave fullscreen mode.

Stretch guest => screen resolution of VM changes to rare values as 640x480, 852x828, 800x600 ... some time is stretched, sometime ist not stretched but remains in the middle with black area around

Center guest => same as stretch guest -

win xp, resoluton 1280x1024, fullscreen mode, autosize = autofit guest,

I change autosize to center guest, and win xp screen resolution changes to 640x480, centered in the screen, 320x1024 black area on the left, on the right, 1280 x 272 black area on the top, on the bottom.

win 8, same, but after switch to center guest, resolution is 800x600

Also Edit->Preferences->Display->Autofit guest is turned on / off according to VM->View->autosize (why???)

During entering / leaving full screen mode View->Autosize->Stretch guest is disabled / changed to autofit, ...

In result, each enter / leaving full screen mode (e.g. for powering up other machine) other machines change its screen resolution, my desktop icons are rearranged..., my development environments / designed windows are changed, etc.

I think, better solution will be going back to ver 9 and get from vmware money back, because vmware workstation 11.1 (11) is absolutly shitty, and is not useable for everyday jobs.

Hi,

Have seen similar complaints about automatic screen resizes from other users in the Fusion forum.

There the solution is to add the following lines to the global preferences file.

pref.autoFitGuestToWindow = "FALSE"

pref.autoFitFullScreen = "stretchGuestToHost"
