Host OS: Mac OS 10.9.5
Guest OS: Ubuntu GNU/Linux 3.12.17-editshare3 x86_64
VMWare Fusion Version: 6.0.5
Simply put, copy and paste don't work at all between the host and guest OS' in either direction. It's enabled in the Preferences->Isolation control panel. VMWare Tools are installed.
File share does work.
Drag and drop does not work.
Any ideas? I don't know where to even start.
Thanks!

I get the same problem on Professional Version 7.1.0 (2314774).
OS X host, Ubuntu 14 guest - I've tried ticking boxes, re-installing VMWare, re-booting host and guest, all to no avail.
Is this getting worked on?
Rgds,
James
I managed to fix this issue by performing following steps in ubuntu vm
run following command in terminal .
sudo apt-get autoremove open-vm-tools ( it removes the open-vm-tools that gets shipped with ubuntu along with all the dependencies )
Now install VMware Tools by following the usual method and reboot the VM
Next try installing open-vm-tools desktop package by running following command
sudo apt-get install open-vm-tools-desktop ( for some reason this package was necessary for desktop screen resizing feature to function )
