Is there a limit to the number of View Connection Servers per license?

We would like to setup a second view connection server in our VDI environment to limit downtime during maintenance windows.  I've been unable to find a definitive answer as to whether or not we can have more than one View Connection server with a View license or if it's only one server per license?  Does anyone happen to know the answer to this or able to point me towards the correct documentation?

Thanks in advance for any replies!

Unless I'm missing something, VMware View is only licensed by the number of clients, and you can install connection/security servers as needed.

Good deal, thank you! I figured this had to be the case, I just wasn't quite sure and there really wasn't any answer I could find anywhere that explicitly stated so. Smiley Happy

Hi,

You can use 7 Connection Servers (5 + 2 spares) in a single view pod.

Horizon (with View) is available in two license models:
  • Per Named User: For virtual environments with staff that need dedicated access to a virtual machine throughout the day.
  • Per Concurrent Connection: For virtual environments with a high number of shift workers where machines are shared between workers throughout the day (e.g. students, shift workers).
