Can i take the delta exam to update 5.0 to 5.5?

Can i write the delta certification if i'm not 510 certified?

I saw in many places that its a path from 510 to 550.

Hi Abhilashhb - the system should be set up to not allow you to get authorized unless you have the proper pre-reqs in place. So, if you passed the exam VCP510 - when it was on either vSphere 5.0 or vSphere 5.0/5.1 - and were certified as a VCP5-DCV, then yes you meet the requirement.

Please see the foot notes (Terms and Conditions) in Delta Exam - New VCP-DCV Exam

Only current VCP5-DCV candidates who passed the exam series VCP510, VCP510PSE or VCI510 are eligible.

Yes i saw that. What caused the confusion is that the authorization was successful and i have the exam in my pre-approved list in PearsonVUE.

Hi Abhilashhb

Have you successfully sit/wrote the VCP-DCV Exam for vSphere 5.0? I believe the Exam code for that 5.0 version was also VCP510 (yes, it's confusing!). So, if you successfully wrote that Exam and also attended the Official required coursework (meaning: if you're currently a VCP5-DCV in versions 5.0 or 5.1 of VMware vSphere), I think that you are eligible to write the 5.5 Delta Exam.

But it's better that someone from VMware - like JoshuaAndrewsVM or lilesj  - confirms (or denies) that my understanding is correct.

Hi All,

Do we need to go to PearsonVUE exam center OR we can appear it (VCP 550 Delta exam) online from anywhere ?

You can take it from anywhere. Here's the page that confirms this and has other useful info/links: Delta Exam - New VCP-DCV Exam
