Workstation 11 with more then 10 tabs/VMs?

Hello,

I have more then 10 VMs configured. On the top I just see 10 tabs with the last VMs. All new VMs aren't on this list.

Is this a bug or can I configure how many tabs VMware Worstation should show? Version is 11.0.0 build-2305329 under Linux.

Thanks in advanced!

Bye

Hi zwierbel,

If you are running out of horizontal screen space, there should be an arrow at each end of the tab bar which should allow you to scroll through the tabs.

I have the same build of Workstation running on Debian testing, showing 15 tabs (13 VMs plus the My Computer and Shared VMs tabs), as long as I stretch the Workstation window out wide enough for them... and I'm sure Workstation could display more tabs if I cared to create more VMs.  But if I narrow the window, I get the arrows at each side to scroll the tab view.

Cheers,

Hello dariusd,

thanks for your answer. I'm under Debian/unstable.

I can open more then 10 tabs but when I close VMware and start it again there are just 10 tabs open. I don't have My Computer and Shared VMs. Just Home.

My monitor use 2560x1440 so I don't have to scroll with more then 10 tabs 😉

I have attached a screenshot. If  I close VMware workstation and start it again the right tab with bbb-Ubuntu 14.04 didn't open.

Any ideas?

Bye

2560 horizontal pixels is a wonderful thing!

I can see the same behavior across a restart of Workstation... It only restores the first ten VM tabs.  I can reopen tabs for 11th, 12th VMs, and so on, but it forgets them again at the next restart.

It corresponds with the message "Cmd /host2/#_client/util/vm/cmd/##1a/op/manageVM/ failed: Too many concurrent operations in progress. Retry the operation later." in the latest UI log at /tmp/vmware-$USER/vmware-ui-*.log.

I'll file a bug to request that we actually retry/defer the tab open instead of just forgetting the tab...

Thanks,

Hello,

I have the same message in my logs.

Okay, let's see if your bug report will provide a fixed version in the future...
