"Smooth scrolling" Visual Studio extension not working due to insufficient graphics performance?

I have just converted from Paralells 10 to Fusion 7 because Fusion runs just more stable then the latest Parallels version.

However I noticed that Fusion 7 only supports DirectX 9 vs. DirectX 10 in Parallels and I wonder if that's the problem for my issue.

In Visual Studio 2013 I have been using this plugin which enables soft scrolling in the text editor: https://visualstudiogallery.msdn.microsoft.com/5fcc21b1-2c9b-4768-a5da-e309811d6b9e

This works nicely in Parallels 10 but in Fusion 7 I get only very chunky scrolling.

I run my VM on an iMac Core i7 @3.4 GHz with 24GB of RAM and a 2GB ATI graphics card. The Win 8.1 VM gets 1GB of video RAM, 2 CPUs and 6GB of RAM.

Any opinions?

Hi Krumelur,

Please try to disable 3D acceleration in Display settings and have a try again.

Steps:

======

1. Shut down your VM

2. Open Settings panel and click Display icon.

3. Uncheck the 'Accelerate 3D Graphics' option.

4. Start up the VM.

-Rick

Okay, could you try to downgrade hardware version to HWv10 in Compatibility setting and try it once again?

Hi,

As I have no idea from what year a iMac with i7 @3.4GHz is, just to be sure, I'll add this note.

If your iMac is a Mid-2011 iMac, you might want to have a look at this thread: Yosemite and Fusion 7  - Very Very Slow

Yeah, that's my Mac's model year and I am aware of that problem. Had it also on Parallels and fixed it already by adding the NVRAM parameter. The VM is not slow at all, in contrast it is really snappy, especially compared to Parallels.

However this tiny little Visual Studio App Extension refuses to work. Not a big deal, just weird.
