What is the guest OS? Win 8? Server 2012R2?

What version of Horizon View are you running on the agent?

Are you using RDP or PCoIP?

Are you using Hosted Apps (RDSH) or VDI?

Horison View ver 6.0 build 1884746

Using PCoIP

Using VDI

Have not seen that before but I would try 2 things:

Upgrade to 6.0.1

Remove the HTML-access components. (Unless you use them of course.)

Hi

How is the View desktop being launched? Are you launching it from Workspace Portal? or is your View client directly connecting to a View desktop via a connection server/security server?

Hi Ravi

We are launching the View client via a connection server. We have got a work around to this problem by using AD Group Policy to put icon for Windows Shutdown.exe -l on the VDI Desktop. This helps users new to Win 8 to shutdown their system and also kills any running processes (App Tap) and VDI Client shuts down normally

Based on the info available to me via this post, I dont think this is related to Workspace product.

Update: I now see how this is related to Workspace product. The View desktop has Workspace client installed on it.

Hello,

Based on the fact the issue is only present when VMWare WorkSpace is running makes it pretty clear it is related the Workspace product (some how)-

wssm.exe Framework Session Manager - is the only application that runs anything relevant to AppTap

Below from Task Manager;

wssm.exe DLL C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware View\Agent\bin\AppTap.dll

Above shows it is a Vmware View Issue, However the below is interesting;

Close Workspace before Logging off - Issue not present.
Uninstall Workspace - Issue not present.

Workspace Running - Attached error everytime A user signs out.

Obviously this isn't all that much of a problem if using RDP, (as the message lasts for a second or two) However when using PCOIP and zero clients the attached image still stays on the screen until the timeout period has passed (60 seconds default on PCIOP Zero Clients.

The only way to make this go away at the moment is to remove the Vmware Workspace Application - OR for a logoff using the above mentioned command; shutdown.exe -f -l which parses the logoff without issue.

Thank you. A similar issue was fixed recently and we are seeing the same symptom from your logs. I will send you a private message.

We are currently experiencing this same issue. We're running Horiozn 6 with Windows 8.1 desktops using PCoIP only with Teradici zero clients. Whenever a user tries to log off of the desktop we get that same error message/warning that states: VMwareAppTap. This app is preventing you from signing out." We are not using Workspace at all. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
