vCenter Server managed IP address

Hi Guys,

just want to know what happens if the vcenter Server managed ip address is blank in the vCenter server. infact, I have a plan to migrate the vCenter to a new server (mostly a VM) and when i checked, the "Managed IP address" of vCenter is blank and the vpxa.conf file of ESXi host connected to the vCenter server shows as

<vpxa>
...
<serverIp>127.0.0.1</serverIp>
...
</vpxa>

now the question is, do i migrate vCenter Server with blank "managed IP address of vCenter"  or enter the IP address of vCenter server in "Managed IP Adress" option and then go for migrations. also suggest the merits and demerits of the managed IP address.

regards

The new vCenter will have a different IP address ? If yes, take a look here: VMware KB: VMware vCenter Server IP address change causes VMware ESX hosts to disconnect
