Controlling VM's remotely

I have fusion running on my mac pro with about 6-7 VM's. I do not want to map and open RDP ports to each machine. Is there anyway to use Fusion to connect to another instance of Fusion? Kind of like Workstation server but with the option of drag & drop, clipboard, etc?

Does anyone know of any good tech to do this?

Yeah.  For what it’s worth, this would be really useful for me as well — I have a headless Mac Mini which is running a number of VMs, and would love to control them (and view the consoles) more easily from my iMac.

Likely not to be as smooth as you want, but the OS X built in Screen sharing might work for you.

Remote Control a Mac with Screen Sharing in OS X

FWIW if you only want to give access to a particular machine you can also use the Fusion built in VNC support as well.

See Fusion menu -> Virtual Machine -> Settings -> Advanced -> Remote Display over VNC

Yup — I’ve been using OS X screen sharing, but it’s a bit inconvenient, particularly since the VMs are running under a different account than the one I manage that system under.

VNC should work for console access (thanks for the suggestion — I will go ahead & set that up, I think, if I can limit it to only the private subnet that the VMs should be accessible on), but with the development work I’m doing, I also need to be switching the machines on/off and manipulating snapshots [hmmm, I don’t recall if that functionality is available yet in Fusion for a remote ESXi server either].

Thanks!

That's possible with Fusion and a remote VM on ESXi.

You can start/stop/pause and commit or create snapshots (amongst others)
