Horizon is failing to update gateway and service vms to 1.8 from 1.5

Hi I had Horizon Workspace 1.5 running.

We updated to vcenter 5.5, it converted all my vapps to resource pools. I created a new vapp Horizon Workspace.. moved my vms to the new vApp. I ran the horizon update, and now the three vms are updated the other two (gateway and service ) aren't. I went to the hwconfigurator.companyname.com , it looks like it lost the database connection since its asking me to enter database information.

The Three Vms Data, Connector and Configurator all show up at build 1.9 ( for some reason), Gateway and service show up at 1.5. This is very frustrating any advice on what I can do here?

I am lost, what do I do ?

There are no configurator logs either

Thank you

Hello

What does the command "hznAdminTool listvms" return when run on configurator-va? It is expected to return the list of all vms inside your vapp - a minimum of 5

Please open a case with VMware support team for this issue.

Thanks.

Hey Ravi,

I reverted back to backups. So I have 1.5 on all vms, the funny thing is when i got hwgateway.company.com I get  A communication problem occurred. The page you want to view cannot be loaded. Contact your administrator with this error: 502 Bad Gateway.

So I went to hwconfigurator.esti.ca and its asking me to enter the database information again?

What do I do here? I dont want to lose any of the data we already had on our database.

Mind you, this is a vapp I created manually and moved the vms from the resource pool to here. Do I have to or had to do anything differently here?

Thank you

As I suggested before, please open a support case. You may find this kb useful - VMware KB: VMware Horizon Workspace recovery guidelines and restore procedures
