Install 3dm2 and CLI in VMware ESXi 5.1 U1 Server

Hi,

We have 3ware 9650SE-8LPML RAID Controller, with ESXi 5.1 U1(Build 1065491). We have managed to configure the mentioned controller with ESXi by installing the appropriate driver from your download page. The only things that we could not solve was how to monitor the host - controller. The only way we could do it is by logging to the host and running tw_cli, however we did not find any instructions how we can monitor the host from outside.

We have found the installation procedure for installing 3dm2 but only on ESX host (no rpm manager is available on ESXi), so if you have any tips how to establish monitoring from 3dm2 or other monitoring tools like nagios, we would appreciate your help.

OK, so I see no one have a clue how to do that, so now i'm asking is there any way to connect ESXi and vMA for ESXi that this thing could work?

Greetings,

Not sure if this is even a valid issue any longer, however...

Depending on how familiar you are with Linux, you can always try a utility like rpm2tar or rpm2tgz, or at least, rpmunpack to pull the binaries out of the RPM package.

From that, you should be able to get the files onto the filesystem.  Whether they will work as expected is still yet to be tested.

HTH.
