HI, after the upgrade from Fusion 6 to 7 Pro i have found that 2 keyboard keys are swapped in my Win 8.1 bootcamp VM.
I have an italian Keyboard with a MBPr 2014.
When i press the upper left key with symbol \ | i get the symbol as if i press the bottom left key < > and viceversa.
What's happened ???
Thanks in advance
PS:
When i start bootcamp all works fine and inside OsX all works fine too !!!!
I got the same issue with a danish keyboard on a win 7 vm.
Same goes for me, I have a swedish keyboard using Win 8.1 wm on my MBP. My < and > are swapped for §.
I have the same problem with a german (Swiss) mac keyboard. It all worked great with Fusion 6. It's very disappointing to see that product testing don't be done properly.
I have the same issue with a spanish (Spanish - ISO) keyboard and Windows 7, Windows 8 VMs.
I got the same problem with a german keyboard. Funny enough, if I restart apple's KeyboardSetupAssistant and press the other key (not the one right to shift but the one left of "1") the problem appears in MacOS (which is no surprise), but Win7 is okay. That proofs that Fusion 7 is swapping those two keys...
It is the same for me, I have a danish keyboard using Win 8.1 wm on my MBP. My < and > are swapped for §. Annoying as a developer I use <> much
Same for me Swedish keyboard...
same for me swiss (german) keyboard, MBPr 2013
HI, i tried to open a support request and i'm waiting for a response.
Have you open some support's request ??
Any news from vmWare ??
same for macbookpro Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013, OS X 10.9.4 (13E28), VMware Professional Version 7.0.0 (2075534)
swapped < and ^ keys, others i didn´t try yet ...

Same problem for me:
- Vmware Fusion 7.0.0 Professional
- OSX 10.9.4
- Macbook AIR 13"
- Italian keyboard
The two keys ('><' and "\|") are swapped in any client operating system (tested on Windows 7 and Ubuntu Linux)

Update: I submitted a support request and was contacted by VMware technical support.
They told me that their development team is aware of the issue and are working to provide a solution, that will be released with one of the next updates or versions.
Since the solution will require some time (maybe weeks), they suggested me a simple workaround to be applied in the meanwhile:
- Go to Preferences -> Keyboard and mouse -> keyboard mappings
- Check the second checkbox to enable keyboard mappings specific for a language
- Add 2 mappings: from "<" to "\" and viceversa
This solved the problem for my italian keyboard while waiting for the bug resolution.
Bye

Hi, the previous solution doesn't works for me .
Hi, did you enable BOTH the checkboxes in Preferences -> Keyboard and mouse -> keyboard mappings ?
In the previous message I wrote to enable the second one, but this is only because on my machine the first one was already checked...
Hope the workaround will work also for you (I can't imagine why it shouldn't) 🙂
Added screenshot... look at the last two mappings
There too using a Swiss German Keyboard (§ and \ Keys)
I made this temporary "hack" (should work on all Windows NT Based systems, layout independend) to temporary fix it
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout]
"Scancode Map"=hex:00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,56,00,29,00,29,00,56,00,\
00,00,00,00
Hi, this is my screenshot but it doesn't works.
This works for me, maybe test it with just one mapping and see if that works
No, also this solution doesn't works.
I have a bootcamp VM and i don't know if it makes the difference.
@Vulpes: Could you send me the .reg files ??
Thanks
