I am trying to create a lab and have workstation 10 installed on a approved hardware configuration . I have created 2 ESX servers but can only log into them one at a time with Vcenter and using a direct login to their IP address. Do you have to create a vcenter server first before you can see them nested? Not sure if I have them created properly. If anyone has a step by step guide on how to configure, it would be much appreciated. Thanks
After install the two ESXi servers and configured IP address, you can login in one of them using vSphere Client (C# version) and create a virtual machine to install VMware vCenter Server or deploy the vCenter Server Appliance.
After install vCenter Server or deploy the vCenter Server Appliance, login in the vCenter, create a Datacenter and add the two ESXi servers.
You may want to take a look at Building the Ultimate vSphere Lab which explains how to setup a virtual vSphere Lab.

what about the database for the VCenter appliance ?
Just use the embedded 🙂
I'd take the easy route and download and install the AutoLab nested environment... Its just been updated to support VMware ver 6.7
You can get all the info here (Build guide and empty VMs):
