Hi, I am, having trouble copying a large number of files using Shared Folders. Is there any way I can access the Guest folders from the win8 Host and try pushing the files from there? Win8 may be a lot more tolerant than XP.

Yes of course you can access files on the Guest from the Host providing you enable a share point. Industry Standard Networking works between Host and Guest just as if they were two physical machines, so act accordingly!
