ESXi 5.5u1 Error 21011 when attempting to install vmware tools on a server 2012 Standard host

I get the error below when I attempt to install the vmware tools on a fresh and clean install of M$ Server 2012 Standard. My first hought was corrupt img file, but immediately ruled it out as I installed 3 VMs using it last week. I found nothing in the help resources. Anybody have any suggestions? I need to get this all working so I can install Vcenter server on this guest OS.

Call "VirtualMachine.MountToolsInstaller" for object "ACMS-IVM1" on ESXi "172.17.65.205" failed.

vix error code = 21011

Hi looking at the VIX error code list that one is listed as

"A tools installation is already in progress."

https://www.vmware.com/support/developer/vix-api/vix18_reference/errors/errors.html

Have you tried restarting the windows installer service?

You might also try applying any MS patches for the windows installer (or make sure WindowsUpdate isn't trying to do that already mid your tools install)

Also that error may indicate that another vmtools install is in progress on that host.  Thereby locking the vmtools iso that it's trying to mount.

Have you tried running services.sh restart from the esxi host?

I had to go manually run it.  So, Just go into file manager and the mounted CD drive for tools .  Then run the setup.
