Change BIOS Settings from VMs with powerCLI

Hi all

Is there a way to change the BIOS Settings in vSphere 5.5 with powercli from newly created VMs? We want to set the following settings:

  • Disable „Legacy Diskette A:“
  • Disable Serial port A
  • Disable Serial port B
  • Disable Parallel port
  • Disable disk controller

Regards,

Michael

Afaik, no there isn't.

What I normally do is configure a BIOS of a VM like I would like it to be, and then copy the file that contains these BIOS settings (.nvram) to a newly deployed VM.

That can be done with the Copy-DatastoreItem cmdlet, or with the datastore psprovider.
