How to install Windows server 2012 on Virtual Infrastructure 3.5 ?

I need to install server 2012 R2 on our ESX servers v.3.5

Windows server 2008 R2 I can install without problem, but when I run installer for 2012, I get this error -

Your PC need to restart. Error code 0x000000C4

Parameters:

0x0000000000000091

0x000000000000000F

0xFFFFF801EEB65A00

0x0000000000000000

I tried to first install Server 2008, then run setup from windows. After checking hardware installer offered to upgrade incompatible LSI U320 driver., which I downloaded and installed. Installer was happy, and started upgrade. But after the first reboot , when server starts up to continiue setup server stops with the same error.

Anybody knows how to overcome this?

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

according to the VMware HCL: http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php

Windows Server 2008 R2 is the latest version that is supported ESX(i) 3.5 U5.

Time to upgrade the hosts.

Regards

Tim
