Host Profiles and local dump file

Hi,

i am just working with hostprofiles to get it working in my environment. But i have an issue configuring my local dump file.

I install the host with autodeploy. I would like to do a statefull installation on san.

That´s working as i aspected. The Host starts with pxe and tftp and began to boot.

Now, the host is attached to my vcenter where i can apply my host profile.

So far so good. But i have the issue, that the local dump file is created on one of my lun´s. But i do not want that file.

I installed the coredump server on my vcenter and configure my host profile to use it. That´s OK, but i also configure the profile to not use a coredump partition.

But this the host does not accept that.

Is there something i am missing? Or is it not possible?

I also set the file to unconfigured (ssh esxcli system coredump file set -u) and import the settings from my host. But thats not working either.

Also is it possible to disable some setting in the hostprofile to not override them during an import from my reference host? Because if i accept my host profile and at a later point, i decide to add a vlan or what ever and import that settings from my host to my profile, it also changes the profile settings for my system image cache installation.

Thanks for any hints.

Frank
