Is there any limit to the number of affinity rules that can be set in a cluster ?

I really doubt there is any document or link that says about this number. They all talk about how to set them.

One thing you should watch out for: With each DRS rule, you make the DRS algorithm complexer.

I have been asked by one of the customer...about the maximum number of affinity rules in the cluster.. I don't have answer for it..

I've never seen any hard coded maximum number for it.

I'd ask depping

Basicly I would tell your customer that every rule makes A) the DRS executions more complex and B) the more rules you apply, the more you limit the possibilities of HA and you might create situations, where hardware errors might lead to very unbalanced clusters with a bad performance impact on your VMs.

I have never seen a documented maximum for DRS Affinity rules. However, if you need hundreds then I suspect something is seriously wrong
