SRM test generates a windows event with ID 41 in recovered VM

Hi

I noticed that when I run a test on a windows 2008 R2 VM I am asked to restart it to apply changes.

I checked a Windows 2003/2008 VM and that does not asks me to restart.

When I check the event log I see a critical error with ID 41 kernel-power.  The time stamp is at time when SRM restarts VM.

This seems to happen when a VM is not cleanly shutdown which make sense I guess when you take a non-quiesced snapshot.

I'd like to know that my assumptions are correct or whether this has a different cause all together.

Should I just ignore the prompt to maybe run some post test script to do an additional reboot?

You right in your assumption. I assume the VMTools is installed and running correctly. You could try re-installing them and see if this fixes the shutdown issue. Otherwise you can leave it and do a manual reboot or script it.
