Download manually VMware View Client for Linux as a deb package

hi

Howto download VMware View Client for Linux manually as a deb package, because my Iceweasel browser doesn't support apt or automatic installation.

Here is how I did it...

In a Terminal:

sudo apt-get update

Then I rebooted the Virtual Machine.

In a Terminal:

sudo apt-get install vmware-view-client

Now to access the VMware View Client...

Applications > Internet > VMware View Client

Thx, but my problem is, I would like to install on Debian and not on Ubuntu.

I need a deb package of VMware View Client for Linux 1.5.

Just a suggestion... I have not manually decomplied the .deb package to review it however although I think it would install okay under Debian I do not know if the package will install properly under Debian since I haven't tried it ...  So, you could use apt-get on a Ubuntu VM and then grab the vmware-view-client_*.deb package from the /var/cache/apt/archives folder and copy off to where ever and try installing it under Debian.

Here you can download deb packages of VMware View Client:

http://www.ubuntuupdates.org/package/canonical_partner/lucid/partner/base/vmware-view-client

and it seems to work on debian.

You can find it here:

UbuntuUpdates - Package "vmware-view-client" (precise 12.04)

I can also verify it works on later releases as long as you use dpkg. I have it working on 13.10 after installing it by hand.
