No USB devices are working....so maybe I missed something...

Just testing View 5.2 - for a possible POC moving forward.  We built out the environment as in the VMware Horizon View 5.2 Reviewer's Guide.  We are testing with a Win7-32bit base image.  After the pool was created we noticed that the VM virtual hardware did not have a USB Controller so we added one not in the base but in one of the pool VM's.  Using the View Client on a windows workstation we can connect to our pool and entitled VDI session, but when we attempt to Connect USB Device from top menu we see that No Suitable USB Devices Available.  We have checked that the guest does have Universal Serial Bus controllers in Device Manager, and under that has both the VMware View Virtual USB Host Controller and VMware View Virtual USB Hub.

The USB device is a simple Kingston USB Drive.  The Host see's it just fine.  What are we missing here?

The "hardware" USB controller on a VM is not used by View's USB redirection, we have a software controller and hub that run inside the Windows guest OS. Given the message, you're more likely to have issues with USB on the client machine - check that the USB client component was installed, and if you've got USB 3.0 ports that you're using the most recent version.

are you your using PCoIP ? Is 32111 port enabled on the firewall ? Did you install USB component with VMware View Agent? Please check these.

Also check your Global Policies for USB Access under View Admin console
