    Replication - Security Concerns

    kopper27 Expert

      hi guys

We are have a Datacenter and one customer wants to use our datacenter as a replication site using Vmware Replication 5.5.

I see that when both vReplications are install in both sites.

Primary vReplication needs to add target vCenter which will be sour Vcenter.

      So my questions are:

Do you recommend me using NAT for security reasons?

which IP would be NATted in this case? all our ESXi servers, vCenter and vReplication VM? or just the vCenter IP?

the other questions is vReplication in Customer Site to which IP addresses needs to have access? and ports? I see the link for ports

      • vCenter Server and ESXi 5.x network ports that SRM requires
      • SRM Server 5.x network ports
      • vSphere Replication Appliance 5.x network ports
      • vSphere Replication Management Server 1.0.x network ports
      • vSphere Replication Server 1.0.x and 5.x network ports
      • Network ports that must be open between the SRM and vSphere Replication protected and recovery sites

but which of these I should use as ports reference since I use vReplication I think when SRM is mention I don't have to include those ports then

      thanks a lot
