Hi,

I guess you are talking about Memory? Smiley Wink

Consumed: Host memory that is allocated to the VM

Active: Guest memory that is beeing used by the VM

Private: Amount of memory stored in the physical host memory for this VM

Shared: Amount of memory shared between multiple VMs with Transparent Page Sharing

Swapped: Memory the host has swapped to a file inside the VM directory to free up host memory

Compressed: Memory that was compressed by the VMkernel to free up space

Regards

Tim

What should be monitor if need to monitor the memory performance from the below memory counter?

Consumed: Host memory that is allocated to the VM

Active: Guest memory that is beeing used by the VM

Private: Amount of memory stored in the physical host memory for this VM

Shared: Amount of memory shared between multiple VMs with Transparent Page Sharing

Swapped: Memory the host has swapped to a file inside the VM directory to free up host memory

Compressed: Memory that was compressed by the VMkernel to free up space

When checking into performace tab of vcenter of one VM.

Active Memory showing->Max 4.3GB

Consumed--> Max 15GB

Granted--> Max 16GB

Usage--> 40%

Which counter showing above I need to share with the customer?

Hello,

you can check this:

https://communities.vmware.com/servlet/JiveServlet/download/38-74238/top-20-vmware-performance-metri...

In the memory section, it probably will show what memory metrics should be checked (and how) to monitor memory performance.

Hope it helps Smiley Happy

Best regards,

Pablo
