I am trying to find out if it's possible to find out what type of device ESXi is installed on. I've installed ESXi on a local HD, and there are also a few installed on SD cards. Is there a way to see where ESXi is installed or booted from via PowerCLI?
I looked through a few cmdlets and online, but I didn't see any PowerCLI methods. Thanks for any help.
Did you already look at Get System Boot Device

"Get-VMHostDiskPartition | select *" is also retrieving information where OS is installed but it is very slow.
Thanks for the replies. The ESXcli cmdlet may be able to do what I want, but I don't know how to break down the WWN to the device. I was looking for something that said...I don't know...type SCSI HD, or type Local SD card. Is there anyway to break the information down to that level?
In KB2014558 it states that the 7th character of the UUID shows which type of installation it is.
But that's as far as I got till now I'm afraid.
