Clipboard won't synchronize with Microsoft Office product in guest.

In my case, clipboard sharing works between my Host machine (2012 MBP running Fusion 6.02 on Mavericks) and my Guest OS (Windows 7 64-bit on version 10 hardware). EXCEPT with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook.

Host -> Guest

  • Copying in the Host then pasting in a Microsoft Office application in the Guest does not paste the Host's clipboard, but the Guest's clipboard.
  • Copying in the Host then pasting in some other application (not Microsoft Office) pastes the Host's clipboard. Pasting in a Microsoft Office application after pasting in some other application pastes the Host's clipboard. (I suspect it's pasting from the guest's clipboard at this point, having transferred the contents)

Guest -> Host

  • Copying in a Microsoft Office application in the Guest then pasting in the Host does not paste the Guest's clipboard, but the Host's clipboard.
  • Copying in a Microsoft Office application in the Guest then pasting in another application (not Microsoft Office) on the Guest, then pasting in the Host will paste the Guest's clipboard. (Again, I suspect it's pasting from the Host's clipboard at this point, having transferred the contents)

To duplicate:

Preparation:

Open Text Edit on a Macintosh Host.

Open Microsoft Word on a Windows 7 Guest.

Open Notepad on a Windows 7 Guest.

Host -> Guest

Copy text from Text Edit and attempt to paste into Word. (This will fail)

Copy text from Text Edit and paste into Notepad. (This will work) Now paste into Word. (This will work)

Guest -> Host

Copy text from Word document and paste into Text Edit. (This will fail)

Copy text from Word document and paste into Notepad. (This will work) Now paste into Text Edit. (This will work)

Does Microsoft Office use a different clipboard than the OS? Can it be disabled? More to the point, can Fusion access this clipboard since it appears to be separate from the OS?

P.S. I've tried to use my.vmware.com "Get Support" for this issue but after completing the form, I get the error "Resource not found".

Hi,

Thank you for submitting this issue.

I've tried reproducing this issue following your steps on my Mac, but failed.

My environment:

     Mac: MBP 2012

     HOS: MacOSX 10.9.1 (13B35) + Fusion 6.0.2

     GOS: Windows7x64 + Office 2007/2013 + latest Tools

You could try to reproduce this issue with my configuration, and make sure your Mac hasn't installed the third-party management software of Clipboard.

Thanks !
