Hi,
Does anyone was successfully passing a GPU to a Windows 7 x64 VM?
I've installed successfully the NVIDIA drivers, but when i go Device Manager the nvidia adaptor appears with yellow exclamation point.
My server has ESXi 5.5 and the VGA card is a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480, the VM as Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits with 2GB of RAM.
I've also followed the vDGA part of this guide:
http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/techpaper/vmware-horizon-view-graphics-acceleration-deployment.pdf
But when i connect to the VM with ViewClient it still uses the VMware SVGA 3D adaptor instead of the NVIDIA.
The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 is not supported with vDGA, only highend card like Quadro and GRID cards will work.
I've been able to get the Tesla C2070 to work in ESXi 5.5 however I cannot get the Tesla K20c or GTX 480 to work. The devices will passthrough to the guest VM however in windows or RHEL after installing the drivers the devices do not work. I tried this in 4GB x64 and x86 with 2GB memory. I also tried adjusting the PCIhole.start
If anyone finds a way to make this work please let me know.
