Hi,

Moved discussion from beta forum VMware Fusion Technology Preview 2013 to VMware Fusion® (for Mac) as it will get a better exposure in the correct forum.

To remove the USB hub, shut down your Virtual machine. From the Virtual Machine drop down menu, select settings and remove the USB controller there.

Then add it back.

If that doesn't help then please provide us more information, like what version of Ubuntu are you running as your guest OS.

When exactly are you getting this error? (Is this at boot time?)

hope this helps,

I removed USB hub and started again, no joy, I re-installed and it says something about loading 0% and freezes, I updated Fusion but same I'm using Ubuntu 11.10 "Oneiric Ocelot" Minimal CD iso image, should I try using ubuntu-12.04.3-desktop-i386

Ubuntu 11.10? Yes I think it makes sense to at least try the 12.04 version as it is a LTS (Long Term Support) version.

See also:https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LTS

While Ubuntu 11.10 should work, Ubuntu itself has already stopped supporting it, so it is not the most sensible version to work with.

hope this helps,
