All vms fail to be recovered on a datastore due to an invalid vm

I'm seeing this error for every configured VM on this particular volume when I run a test:

Error - Virtual machines "MBRDBPRDRestore1120" that are not protected by this protection group use datastores "VM_1ALB_T1_VOL1" that are in this protection group.

This vm is a copy of a vm that is in the protection group but it was restored to a different volume with a different name.

When I browse the datastore I'm not finding any files that look like they are related to the restored vm.

Any ideas?

It appears that the restored vm is somehow attached to the protected volume. This volume shows up in the list for the Storage on this vm.

I just can't figure out how it is using the volume. It's not an ISO and there are no drives attached from the protected volume.

Yes, I found it and forgot to post,

I downloaded the vmx file and found it was pointing to the original server's swap file.

It was never powered on after the restore, I assume that would have updated the swap file location.
