Inspect contents of .vib before installation

I would like to install community-created .vib files, e.g. this one:

Configure ESXi 5.0 as NTP server

Call me sceptical, but I'd like to verify the contents of a .vib before installing it on servers to ensure it only installs the files it says it will in the description and nothing else.  When I open it in a text editor, there are parts I can't read.

What's the easiest way to verify the content of a vib?

Found solution.  .vib file is basically just an archive containing an archive.  Ended up extracting it with "The Unarchiver" on OS X.
