Cloning a vm gets wrong dns entry

We have a problem with writing to the DNS server

situation:

We wil clone a running machine ( named VM01  ip: 10.10.10.10)  ( tried more vm's) with the option : Customize using the Customization Wizard

fill in the configuration  as asked, new name ( named VM01-clone) , and also fill in the domain where the clone is put in to

after al this done, VM wil clone and startup

after doing his config automatic thru vcenter the VM boots again ( so far normal behavior )

after this reboot ,  we look in the DNS and see the original vm name  with an new IP adres . (  VM01  ip: 10.10.10.11 )

after a wile we see the new ( given name in the customization wizard ) DNS name and Ip adres (VM01-clone  ip: 10.10.10.11)

the original VM is gone within the DNS... and not coming back

login in the old vm and register the vm again and both vm's now in DNS

this all happens for a week now.

before we had no issue and both vm's are automatically show up in the DNS

vcenter server 5.1  build 1123961( no updates done for 3 month)

tested on :
windows server 2008 and 2012
windows 7 all with and without updates
DNS server not updated in between and no config change
everything was working before

any more questions, please ask
