Provisioning machine from vCAC 5.2 "Unable to complete the requested operation: Error requesting machine. Failed to validate machine name"

Hi,

I have done vCAC 5.2 setup and configured vSphere (vCenter) endpoint on it. I have created Enterprise groups, Provisioning groups, reservations, machine prefix...etc and all I have is working configuration. I have created vSphere blueprint from the template in vCenter and done all the needed configuration inside template. But now, the issue is when I request machine using self service from  already created vSphere blueprint it gives me error " Unable to complete the requested operation: Error requesting machine. Failed to validate machine name". The log viewer is having info like this: "Error requesting machine. Inner Exception: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. Base Exception: Failed to validate machine name". I have been troubleshooting this issue since long and could not find any related information anywhere on internet.I am attaching error screenshot here. Please help me getting out of this issue, your help will be highly appreciated. Thanks

Can you look in the log viewer within vCAC Administrator and see if there is any additional information provided there for the exception?  Have you don't any modifications to the ManagerService.exe.config file at all?

The log viewer within vCAC Administrator says "Error requesting machine. Inner Exception: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. Base Exception: Failed to validate machine name". I have not done any modifications to ManagerService.exe.config file. When I give machine count 1 it gives above error but if I give 2,3 etc ..it gives me message "Request submitted. You will receive an e-mail when your request has been processed. Thank you." but I dint see anything is happening at vCAC end or at vCenter.

It should be worth checking VirtualMachine table for existing virtual machine records. Please look for existing VirtualMachine's Names. Do you have virtual machine records with the name generated by machine-prefix.
