Network connectivity is lost between PC OS and Virtual machine

Hi

I had Windows 8 on my laptop and added a virtual machine with Windows 2008 R2 and it was running fine. The connectivity between Windows 8 and Windows Server 2008 R2(VM) was fine. I have recently upgraded to Windows 8.1. After the update what i have noticed is i lost wifi connectivity in the virtual machine, I dont know if it is a problem with windows 8.1 upgrade. The connectivity i'm using is NAT. I was able to connect to wifi from the virtual machine and share files netween Windows 8 and Windows 2008 R2. but now i can't connect anymore. Even when i install and enable WLAN service (through Add Feature) on Windows 2008 R2, i don't see the wifi adapter in network settings. someone please help.

Thanks

Did you try to uninstall VMware workstation and reinstall it again after upgrading Windows?

It's a known bug/feature. Check this thread: https://communities.vmware.com/thread/460173

I had it myself and used the "Restore Default" in virtual network manager. However I noticed that the NAT was using different IP range. If you had port forwarding rules they need to be redone. Not sure who's fault it is. The 8.1 update or some settings related to the vmware networking stuff.
