I'm studying for my VCP5-DCV, and I have a question.
On page 154 of a book I'm reading, it says Network vMotion is a capability of vDS but not vSS.
Can someone help me to understand what Network vMotion is?
If this is vCenter operating in linked mode, does it mean the network vDSs are migrated between vCenters when the vCenter goes down?
I thought that most of the work was done by the hidden switch on the ESXi server vDS which doesn't migrate anywhere. ?
Thank you in advance for considering my question. I googled "network vmotion" but most of the answers were in regards to VM vMotion.
maintaining the network stats while moving VMs between hosts
Sorry I don't have an environment with real stats

I have not read the book but network vMotion means when you vMoton a vm from one host to another the network state goes with it, not moving vswitches around.

We can vMotion with either vSS or vDS and as JoshuaAndrewsVM said, the networks stats are maintain only with vDS after vMiotion is done.
