Passed VCP-DCV - Doing VCAP-CIA next is worth and appropriate?

Hi,

I'm a VCP-DCV. Need your opinion on the next appropriate certification to start with.

Can I do VCAP-CIA or it's better to do VCAP-DCA and VCAP-DCD as I'm VCP-DCV already.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Thank You!

You can also point to the VCAP-CIA (or -CID) and you will have the VCP-Cloud certs as a cross-path option.

Hi,

The question is do you work on cloud products? Is that the kind of the work you do day-to-day?

It totally depends on the path you want your career on. I would suggest you to do VCP-Cloud if you want to go on Cloud path. Not that you can't do VCAP-CIA after VCP-DCV.

Again, it depends on what you want to do. If you are someone who works with vsphere everyday with datacentr products it will make  more sense for you to do VCAP-DCA or VCAP-DCD.

If are working on or planning to move to cloud certification then definitely you can take up VCAP-CIA, Please mind that its lab based on exam and you need to have good hands on experience on the product, Make sure you download the blueprint and spend enough time on the lab practicing stuff

We can take up the VCAP-CIA exam if a person is VCP-DCV or VCP-DT certified,  Passing the VCAP-CIA exam will get you two certification VCAP-CIA and VCP-Cloud

Currently I'm working on vSphere suite, however I wish to get into vCloud. So, wanted to know which certification do I need to prepare for.

Would also like to know in which (VCAP-DCA/DCD or VCAP-CIA.) the career opportunities will be more in the next 1 year or so.

Thanks!

Advanced certification always add value to ur profile. Since you are working on vSphere then I would suggest with VCAP-DCA/DCD. If you want to start with Cloud then probably start with the basic then go for VCAP exam.

Either you can start with VCA or VCP Cloud exam. More information can be found VMware Certification

If you want to move to cloud get yourself familiar with the cloud products and concepts that are involved in cloud computing. Off course vSphere is the basic even if you want to learn cloud. Just that with Infrastructure lot of other cloud components get added on.

As Aravind mentioned you could do VCA or VCP and think of advanced level certifications.
