Limitations on running ESXi essentials kit on multiple servers

Hi folks,

With the vmware essentials kit price-points listed here: VMware Official Online Store Online Store - VMware vSphere Essentials Kit is there a limitation on number of servers we can run on this license. For eg, can I keep purchasing new instance of this license per 3 servers that I add to my datacenter and there won't be any restrictions around how many servers I can use?

The limitation is with vCenter Server Essentials (which is included in the kit) is that we can manage only 3 hosts.

If you want to manage more that 3 host under same vCenter then you have to go for vCenter Standard and separate vSphere instance

Hope you have seen this:

This kit includes 6 CPU licenses of vSphere Essentials (for 3 servers with up to 2 processors each) and 1 license for vCenter Server Essentials.

The vSphere Essentials Kit consists of the following:

  • vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi)
  • vCenter Server Essentials
  • vCenter Operations Manager Foundation

Hi

having purchased the essential kit license,

am I required to handle the server with vcenter?

Or can I not even use it, and handle it all with Vpshere WebClient?
