HI Guys,
I have 2 hosts that are not reporting hardware status in vCenter. If I connect directly to the host, I can open and view Hardware Health Status. Any idea what is wrong? These are HP ProLiant DL380 G5 servers. Other servers (Dell) are working properly and displaying the health status.
Regards,
Dinesh
I think it will go away if you move to 4.1 update 3.

Hey Dinesh,
Which version of vCenter are you using? Take a look at this Post and see if it solves your issue.
If not please let me know. Would be glad to help you.
Hi Abhilash,
vCenter is running 5.1 U 1b but the host in question is running 4.1. This does not affect the entire environment. All other hosts are working fine and displaying hardware health status from within vCenter.
Is the hardware status blank? Or there's a error showing up?
The Hardware Status tab shows "No alerts or warnings out of 0 sensors" None of the views, Sensors, Alerts and warnings, and System event log are showing any information.
But if I login directly to the host using the vSphere client then I can see the health status. Host running 4.1 Update 2. Planning to upgrade it to 4.1 Update 3 and the patches after that.
Can you try restarting hostd on host and check
/etc/init.d/hostd restart

Its the vCenter issue. The hardware status is visible on host. Just not showing up on vCenter. Restart of hostd is required if its not showing at host level too.
I think it will go away if you move to 4.1 update 3.
