I have two VMs Oracle Linux Server Guests. Running Release 6.2. Both guests are having network issues, namely slowness when copying to the guest. Speed copying from the guest is much faster but still not what it should be. Other windows guests on these hosts have no speed issues and perform as they should. If I do a copy job to the Linux guest from a VM on the same host there are no speed issues. Using network adapter VMXNET 3. Host is ESXi 5.0.0, 1117897
I have contacted vm support about this and they said there are no problems with the setup and cannot see any problems and it must be on the network. I have tried switching the vswitch1 switchport that the hosts is connected to from trunk port to an access port with no change in the performance of the copy jobs. I also saw some TIDs saying to disable CheckSum Offloading but it does not look to be supported on these NICs as when I run the commands to disable it I get the return message this is not supported.
Any one else have this issue and solve it?
