ESXi / iSCSI / Etherchannel

I am doing this as part learning exercise - part mother is the necessity of invention.

I am using a dell 1950 pizza box as a temporary iSCSI SAN.  Linking to it over just 1 1GB connection leaves a lot to be desired.  Using FreeNAS as a VM under ESXi.  To get more bandwidth to the box - is it just a matter of adding the second nic on the 1950 and configured the two network ports on a Cisco switch into a etherchannel bundle ?  Since I am learning ESXi at the same time, wanted to make sure that I wasnt missing another or easier way to do it.
